NOIAA LTD signs an MOA with the US Embassy of Cameroon to train their local staff on ForkLift safety training

The Secretary of State of the United States of America through her Embassy in Yaounde has just sent an order for (Forklift safety training, JLG, SCISSOR Lift Certification for FAC and Warehouse crews), Request Number 19CM8021P0173 to the Business Development Manager of NOIAA LTD, Middle East & Africa Operations which is a subsidiary of NOIAA Corporation, base in 2425 West Loop South Houston, Texas 77027 USA.

According to Mrs. ONGOBIAKATOMB Rose Delima, Business Development Manager for NOIAA LTD, MEA Operations, this training will take place at the Embassy of the United States of America in Yaounde.  

Mr. James O. TRUE, the Operations and Relationship Manager for NOIAA in-charge of Middle East & Africa Operations who has been working closely with Mr. Tetuh EDWIN AME, the GSO Purchasing Agent said that he was sure that the US Embassy Yaounde would award these Safety Trainings to NOIAA. A forklift is a powerful tool that allows one person to precisely lift and place large heavy loads with little effort. Using a tool such as a forklift, cart or hand truck instead of lifting and carrying items by hand can reduce the risk that you will suffer a back injury.

The JLG 660 SJ is a diesel-powered cherry picker with a working height of 22 metres. A telescopic boom lift is required to carry or several construction and maintenance operations to work at height safely.

Scissor lifts are work platforms used to safely move workers vertically and to different locations in a variety of industries including construction, retail, entertainment and manufacturing. Although scissor lifts present hazards similar to scaffolding when extended and stationary, using scissor lifts safely depends on considering equipment capabilities, limitations and safe practices. So, the operator is to take safety measures to avoid all hazards in the work area prior to machine operation.

US Embassy trainees said they were very much satisfied with the knowledge they had acquired from the Forklift, JLG, SCISSOR Lift training with NOIAA. Furthermore, the personnel of US Embassy comments that with the knowledge gained from these trainings, they are able to take precaution on the following;

• Do not operate or raise the platform while on trucks, trailers, railway cars, floating vessels, scaffolds or other equipment unless approved in writing by JLG.

• Before operation, check work area for overhead hazards such as electric lines, bridge cranes, and other potential hazards.

• Check floor surfaces for holes, bumps, drop-offs, obstructions, debris, concealed holes, and other potential hazards.

• Do not operate the machine in hazardous environments unless approved for that purpose by JLG.

• Be sure that the ground conditions are able to support the maximum load shown on the decals located on the machine.
