Offshore Safety Training

SEA SURVIVAL and FIREFIGHTING Training with NEWREST

From the 27TH TO 28TH NOVEMBER 2018, a training session with the theme: FIRE FIGHTING AND SEA SURVIVAL was delivered to NEWREST employee at the NOIAA International Safety Training Centre in Limbe – Cameroon.

The delegate actively participated in these training sessions, and was able to demonstrate self-confidence, basically fighting fire, knowledge and ability to react and demonstrated basic sea survival techniques and taking care of himself in an emergency situation.

The objectives of this training were to enable each participant to be able to:

  • To prepare the delegate to travel on and offshore, oil and gas
  • Installations and vessels by any means with specific knowledge in sea survival  
  • Deal with First Aid emergencies
  • Provide necessary first aid within the workplace
  • Understand and demonstrate essential lifesaving skills.
  • Understanding of the different classes of fire, their corresponding fire extinguishers and how to use them during fire incidents.
  • Self-rescue techniques in a smoke filled confined space.
  • Skills on accessing live raft
  • Helicopter winching (helicopter trop).
