the National Offshore Institute of Australia and America, Limited (NOIAA LTD) trains British American Tobacco SA staff on DEFENSIVE DRIVING training
British American Tobacco SA, contacted the National Offshore Institute of Australia and America, Limited (NOIAA LTD), MEA Operations, Cameroon Operational Training Centre for the training of over 22 staff on DEFENSIVE DRIVING training, following a press release from NOIAA ‘s Operation and Relations Manager, Mr. James TRUE. The relationship between NOIAA LTD and British American Tobacco SA, started about Ten years ago as this is not the first or second time NOIAA is training British American Tobacco SA staff.

Recently British American Tobacco just carried out a Defensive Driving training for its employees through NOIAA. This training is crucial for the safety and well-being of the employees as it equips them with the necessary skills to anticipate and avoid potential accidents on the road. Implementing defensive driving techniques can significantly reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and fatalities, not only for the employees themselves but also for other road users.
Mr. Arrey Enow, the Trade Marketing Representative for Nord West of BAT in an interview said the training was very good and interactive. The instructors were very open share out the knowledge. He said he has learned a lot in this Defensive Driving training, that is to say it is not only to know how to drive but to know the things to do on your car before you start the car. So he is very grateful and he wish that BAT should always give them an opportunity to do this training for their safety and that for the pedestrians.
In the same light, a trainee by name Mme. Etoumsi Gaelle expressed her satisfaction on what she had gained on this training. She said “I thought a car was just meant to enter, drive and go” but today she has learned about some elementary maintenance one has to do to avoid breakdown on the way. She went further to say the instructors were very detailed in their explanations and give room for every trainee to express his/her self. It was so lively.
Mr. Rakesh CHANDRA, the Training Manager of NOIAA MEA Operation, he was very impressed with the way the trainees were interacting with the NOIAA instructors. He said by undergoing this training, employees of BAT can develop a heightened awareness of their surroundings, improve their vehicle handling skills, and learn how to make better decisions while driving.
Furthermore, the instructors for this Defensive Driving Training recommended that trainees should maintain a proactive approach to driving by staying alert, avoiding distractions, and respectfully interacting with other drivers on the road. They emphasized the importance of following traffic laws, using seat belts, and regularly maintaining company vehicles to ensure optimal safety standards.
To conclude, Defensive Driving training does not only enhance the safety of the driver but also promotes responsible driving behavior, reduces accidents, and can even lead to lower insurance premiums for the company.
