Offshore Safety Training

WOOD PLC contracts NOIAA LTD to train its employees on Advanced Fire Fighting, Basic First AID and HUET

It was on the 15th ,16th  and 17th  through the 18th and on the 19th and 20th  of February 2019 that  delegates from the multinational enterprise, WOOD PLC in Cameroon, were trained by NOIAA LTD, an approved training provider for firefighting in Cameroon and Central Africa. The delegates were trained on Advanced Firefighting, Basic First AID and HUET (Helicopter Under Water Escape Training).

WOOD PLC is a multinational energy services provider for the oil and gas and power generation markets with its head office in Aberdeen, Scotland.  It is a strong brand in the oil and gas industry with over 50000 employees working worldwide through its subsidiaries in America, Europe and Africa. WOOD PLC chose the safety training company NOIAA Ltd, a subsidiary of NOIAACORP with head office Houston, Texas, USA to equip its employees with Advanced Fire Fighting procedures at sea and Basic First AID knowledge and procedures in case of medical emergencies.

The three trainings, Advanced Firefighting, Basic First AID, and HUET were conducted from 15th  to 16th February 2019, 17th to 18th February 2019 and from the 19th to 20th February 2019   respectively at NOIAA’s training center in Limbe. The various modules of the trainings that were taught were designed to teach the attendees from WOOD PLC how to recognize fire hazards, conduct a fire safety risk assessment, firefighting procedures at sea and onshore in case of fire breakout, the initial process of assessing and addressing the needs of any person who has been injured, and how to react safely in a helicopter emergency situation.

NOIAA’s commitment to excellence in its trainings has enabled it to set a high standard of competence in its advanced firefighting training program thus equipping all trainees with the competence to take command, organize and train fire parties and control firefighting operations.

Sama Lofor Bambod, HSE Technician at WOOD PLC said:

The training standards and materials are up to date and the instructors are detailed in explaining the subject. Generally, I would say management, engagement and security and safety objectives are being met. I have learnt a lot and hope to use it well in my career”.

These trainings mark the first safety training contract between the giant multinational energy services company, WOOD PLC and NOIAA Ltd. NOIAA Ltd is a safety training institution with headquarters in Houston, Texas, USA, providing on and offshore training courses to companies and individuals in Cameroon and throughout Central Africa.
