PERENCO signs a new Safety Training Contract (Advanced Sea Survival) with NOIAA LTD, Middle East & Africa Operations

Perenco signs a new Safety Training Contract (Advanced Sea Survival) with the National Offshore Institute of Australia and America Corporation (NOIAA Corp) through its Africa subsidiary NOIAA LTD, Middle East & Africa Operations.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, between Mr. Adrien BROCHE, the newly appointed General Manager of Perenco Cameroun SA and the General Manager for NOIAA LTD, Middle East & Africa Operations, Mr. Elliot Campbell SYCAMORE said:
“Perenco Group like other oil and gas companies around Africa and Middle East has trusted NOIAA LTD over the years because of the Accreditations and the continued upgrading of our On/offshore Maritime Safety Training & Accommodations Centre with modern equipment from abroad”.
“I think it is fair to say that the partnership (between PERENCO & NOIAA) blossomed and has been hugely rewarding for all parties concerned in terms of both lower LTIs and near misses as well as a generally more safety minded workforce will real survival skills. Right from the start of our current regime of trainings for PERENCO, the management of PERENCO asked NOIAA to deliver a unique, intensive, hands on training, extremely demanding of their employees and 90% based in the water. We at NOIAA applaud PERENCO for this no nonsense approach to staff safety training and of course we were more than willing to oblige to this request. Again I think the results of this brave training strategy have more than spoken for themselves…”
Mr. James True, Operations & Relationship Manager for NOIAA LTD, based in Douala, said “I am here working with NOIAA because of continued ongoing commitment to improvement of training amenities, I have witnessed first-hand the huge investment made by the management of NOIAA for the maintenance and upgrades of their equipment and facilities ever since I set foot in Cameroon.
I came here for the long haul and to help make sure this company remains the best not only in Cameroon but the whole world”.
Perenco has operated in Cameroon since 1993 in close collaboration with the Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (National Hydrocarbons Company). The producing operations of Perenco in Cameroon are based around concessions in Rio del Rey, Moudi and Ebome.
Perenco also manages four shared production contracts: three are already in production (Bolongo, Dissoni, Moabi) while one remains at an exploratory stage in the Rio del Rey Basin. In 2018 Perenco and the SNH chose to develop the LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) market thanks to FLNG Hilli Episeyo (Floating LNG), the first floating liquefaction plant in the world, located off Kribi.
The Advanced Sea Survival Training is intended at equipping Perenco’s personnel with survival techniques in case an evacuation of an offshore platform is required. This course also teaches participants how to respond to offshore emergencies like Man Overboard incidents.
